Journal of Solid State Science and Technology Letters serves as a communication avenue for scientists and engineers working in the fields of solid state science, materials science, and related technologies.
The journal aims to provide a platform for the rapid publication of research that is of significant importance to the field. Articles are expected to be written in a concise and focused manner, enabling readers to quickly grasp the essence of the work while maintaining scientific rigor and clarity. This approach ensures that valuable research is disseminated without unnecessary delay, supporting the timely advancement of knowledge and practice.
This journal publishes both fundamental and applied research covering areas such as:
- Physics and chemistry of solids
- Solid-state materials and devices
- Technological applications related to solid-state science
The journal is published twice a year in June and December. It provides a forum of communication for solid state scientists, material scientists, technologists and engineers and promotes the advancement and dissemination of knowledge related to the science and technology of solid state.
Research works that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations are very welcome by Journal of Solid State Science and Technology Letters especially pertaining to SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and SDG 13: Climate Action.
Articles should normally not exceed 3,000 words, excluding references. Manuscripts must be concise and focused, presenting original contributions to the field.
Each article should include:
- Introduction – outlining the research problem, objectives, and significance.
- Methods – described clearly and in sufficient detail to allow replication.
- Results – highlighting the most important findings, supported by figures and tables where appropriate.
Authors are encouraged to include a discussion that relates their findings to existing literature, emphasizing novelty and relevance. Writing should maintain clarity, precision, and logical flow, ensuring accessibility for an international readership.
Manuscripts submitted are reviewed by at least two independent referees outside the editorial office using the single-blind process.
The journal is published, owned and funded by the Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society (MASS). The copyright of the journal belongs to MASS. There is no article processing charge to submit or publish articles in Journal of Solid State Science and Technology Letters.
